“Wonder” Q&A Live Stream

The stream, in addition to being delivered to nearly 300 theater locations, was also delivered to the Wonder and the Gap Facebook pages.

MCG was tasked with setting up nearly 300 theater locations in just two weeks for a live stream Q&A for Lionsgate’s Wonder. The stream went to the theaters via¬†satellite, fiber and IP, and also streamed as a Facebook Live to the Wonder and Gap pages.

All locations were tested by MCG for download speeds. Locations without decoders were shipped laptops with VLC players and instructions were given to each team on how they would receive the stream.¬†Audio and visual test streams were then sent, based on the speeds of each location. With over thirty locations where bandwidth was too low and satellite wasn’t an option MCG worked out other options, which decreased theaters that couldn’t receive the stream down to five.
